Membership

AAUW welcomes to membership women and men who hold at least an Associate degree.  Please click here to complete a membership application form.

 

Dues for 2026-27 are $107. Of that amount $76 goes to National, $12 goes to AAUW Florida, and $19 comes to the branch. Only $71 of the $76 that goes to National is tax-deductible. The membership year varies as National now enrolls new members on a rolling basis. Members will be notified by National when renewal payments are due.​

In principle and in practice, Lake/Sumter AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full partnership in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

When you join the Lake/Sumter branch of the American Association of University Women, you get immediate benefits at the local, State, and National levels.

Within our branch, you will have opportunities to

  • develop friendships with other college-educated women through learning, playing, and working together.

  • engage in leisure activities and social interest groups with other branch members.

  • give back by supporting girls and women from the local community who are just beginning their own educational journeys.

  • participate actively in the work of the branch through committee involvement.

  • access to AAUW-Florida's Annual Conference and Leadership Conference.

  • connections with other AAUW branches and members across the state.

  • invitations to "DEI Dialogues" and other State-offered programming.

  • receipt of Florivision, AAUW-Florida's newsletter.

And at the National level, you will have immediate access to

  • AAUW's resources for carrying out mission-driven activities.

  • discounts and perks for insurance, hotels and vacations, car rentals, and more.

  • college-educated women in branches nationwide.​

Members who wish to have a personalized AAUW membership card can print their own on AAUW National’s website.

To print your personalized AAUW Membership Card:

  1. Open the AAUW website (aauw.org)

  2. Create an account and LOG IN (You only need to create an account once.)

  3. Click on Membership Services Database

  4. Enter Membership Services Database

  5. Click on My Profile/My Membership Card

  6. Print your membership card
