Membership Requirement

 

AAUW welcomes to membership women and men who hold at least an Associate degree.

​

In principle and in practice, Lake/Sumter AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full partnership in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

What it Means to be a Lake/Sumter AAUW Member

​

Lake/Sumter AAUW branch members participate actively in the work of the branch through committee involvement. In addition to enjoying our learning programs and joining our social interest groups, members are asked to choose a committee or committees to which they will contribute their time and talents. New members will be asked to complete an application for membership; current members will be asked to complete the form when they renew. As a fully volunteer organization, Lake/Sumter AAUW needs fully engaged members. And working on projects with other members is the best way to get the most out of your membership.

Dues

​

Dues for 2023-24 is $103. Of that amount $72 goes to National, $12 goes to AAUW Florida, and $19 comes to the branch. Only $69 of the $72 that goes to National is tax-deductible. The membership year varies as National now enrolls new members on a rolling basis. Members will be notified by National when renewal payments are due.

Members who wish to have a personalized AAUW membership card can print their own on AAUW National’s website.

To print your personalized AAUW Membership Card:

1. Open the AAUW website (aauw.org)

2. Create an account and LOG IN (You only need to create an account once.)

3. Click on Membership Services Database

4. Enter Membership Services Database

5. Click on My Profile/My Membership Card

6. Print your membership card
